Bow Windows in Tulsa, OK

A bow window curves out from the wall in four to six panels. It gives a room more glass and a wider view than a bay window of the same width, with a softer, rounder line.

Bow or bay?

It comes down to panels and angles. A bay uses three panels at sharp angles; a bow uses more panels at shallow ones. More panels means more light and a wider view, and the curve looks more formal from the street, which is why bows often suit traditional homes. A bay fits smaller openings and tighter budgets.

What holds it together

More panels means more seams, and each one has to be sealed right or it leaks later. A bow also needs bracing for its weight and a small roof over it. All of that is hidden once the trim is on, so it’s what we’re most careful about.

Planning yours

Panel count, glass, the ledge inside (a seat, a shelf or open) and the trim outside are all choices. A bow is one of the bigger window projects, so we’d rather spend time on these up front than have you guess.

Common questions

Do bow windows cost more than bay windows?

Usually, since they have more panels and more glass. Your written estimate makes the cost clear up front.

Do bow windows need more upkeep?

About the same as any vinyl window. There are just more seams to look over now and then.

Can a bow window have a seat?

Yes, though the ledge is usually shallower and follows the curve. We’ll show you what fits.
